Pareto Principle

A large share of results often comes from a small share of causes, roughly 80 to 20.

Why it matters

It helps you focus limited effort on what most people use most.

How to use it

  • Find the few features people use most.
  • Make those paths excellent first.
  • Check real data rather than assuming the split.

Example

If most orders come from reordering a past meal, that flow deserves more attention than a rarely used filter.

Watch out

80/20 is a pattern, not an exact rule.
