Scarcity Effect
People value something more when it seems limited or about to run out.
Why it matters
It speeds up decisions, but it only works while people believe the limit is real.
How to use it
- Only show limits that are true.
- Explain the reason for the limit.
- Measure refunds and trust as well as sales.
Example
A real count of seats left is useful. A timer that resets when you reload teaches people not to believe you.
